(Overfender) Meaning this kit is mounted over the modified original fenders.
Give your Impreza coupe the width and extra fender to run a wider wheel and tire combo while still using the factory OEM front and rear bumper covers. This seven piece kit is made from thermoformed ABS plastic for durability on and off the track. We extended the panels out to 2.5 inches and the arches sit at factory hight.
We took time to design a practical widebody kit that would incorporate many of the stock features of your existing chassis to eliminate the need to replace full body panels or bumpers. The ABS plastic panels are easily modified for fitment and can be prepped and painted with automotive finishes and vinyl wraps.
Includes:
- Left and right front overfenders, left and right rear quarter panels, left and right side skirts, fuel door attachment.
- Rivets are provided for installation.
- The width of the flare will vary along the wheel arch. Our tests and measurements show approximately 60mm in added width at each wheel at the widest point.
- Modification and cutting of stock fenders is required to properly fit this kit
Wheel/Tire:
Although we've added width, our kit replicates the stock wheel arch in width and height, so we recommend using a 17" wheel diameter to allow tire clearance during turns. On our Grey RS build, we used an 18x9.5 et15 fitted with 275/35-18 Dunlop Star Spec tires. This combination required fine tuning of our coilover suspension and ride height to get the clearance needed and pushed the limits of the kit. There is no easy fitment guide when it comes to recommendations due to variables in the suspension settings.
Panel Fitment/Finish:
Manufactured from thermoformed ABS plastic making them more affordable and much lighter than most fiberglass kits. The 6oc over fenders can be prepped and painted to match, so you have options. Please understand this kit has its limitations. It is not quite "show car" ready nor is it intended to be OEM like in fitment. It’s a plastic panel kit. We built this kit to be an inexpensive option and used for track/competition purposes when a wider stance is desired. Don’t get us wrong, the results can be stunning when the time and care is taken to mount this kit.
When we trim this kit prior to shipment, we leave it as long as our molds will allow. The final sizing/fitment should be that our overpanel edges are about 0.25” within the oem panels. Trying to “line-up” every side of the panel with your original panel lines may be nearly impossible.
Slight variances in material and the thermoforming process are possible. We provide a semi-rough cut panel that may require additional trimming and modification to get the fitment and clearance that you desire.
A UV protective coating, paint, or vinyl wrap should be installed to help reduce reactiveness to UV radiation.
We use ABS Plastics because it is ideal for the thermoforming process, is widely available, easy to modify and customize, and can be worked and painted with standard finishes such as automotive paints and vinyl wraps. Plastics are also less expensive than heavier alternatives, such as fiberglass.ABS Plastic is reactive to UV radiation and temperature. Expansion warping may occur with extended exposure to both direct and indirect sunlight, even in overcast conditions. Please keep in mind that a car’s interior will reach temps much higher than the atmospheric temp in minutes when left in the sun without ventilation. Deformation due to UV or heat exposure will not be considered a manufacturing defect.
Note: Please allow 1-2 weeks for this product to be manufactured if not in stock. These panels are not meant to be thrown on your car and done. Trimming is required to get the fitment to your needs. These panels will need to be sanded for a smooth finish. Because this item is so large, shipping options are required and free shipping is excluded.
This is not a fender replacement or bolt-on kit.
